Twitter…

I mocked, I sighed, I resisted…and yet here I am, now on Twitter. Follow me if you dare @theneatfreak. I promise never to ‘tweet about what my kids are eating for lunch, or any other inane details of my life that I barely care about so certainly can’t expect you to care about. Just organizational tips, links or upcoming events.

I should add that I *do* care what my kids eat for lunch, but I don’t care so much as to twitter about it. You, too, should care what your kids eat for lunch…but not mine!

Umm, I’d actually like to read about what your kids are eating for lunch, especially if it is a really well-organized one with all the food groups represented and kid desirable and environmentally friendly…no easy task and I need all the help I can get!

Rita, I have to say that the best lunch discovery I’ve come across is the laptop lunch box (http://www.laptoplunches.com/). It has individual compartments and works a little like a Japanese bento box. It keeps me from using prepackaged food–instead I pack individual compartments of fruits and veggies everyday (frozen edamame is great–it thaws overnight and is ready to eat by lunchtime). A small sandwich or bagel and some crackers or cheese and lunch is all done. Fairly healthy, no packaging waste, and pretty easy to pack. I always pack lunches while I’m cooking dinner–that way it’s done early, doesn’t cause me to stay up later than I want, and I’m not scrambling in the morning. Hmmmm…maybe that’s twitter worthy afterall???
